Two of four prisoners, including an Australian man, who tunnelled to freedom from Bali's Kerobokan jail have been recaptured and will soon be back behind bars.
The pair, Bulgarian national Dimitar Nikolov Iliev, who was serving seven years for money laundering and Sayed Mohammed from India who was jailed for 14 years for drug offences, were found in East Timor at 2pm local time, Badung District Police Chief Yudith Satriya Hananta told AAP.
Fairfax reports the pair were found at a luxury resort in East Timor's capital Dili.
However Perth man Shaun Davidson, 33, and Malaysian man Tee Kok King remain at large.
Kerobokan governor Tony Nainggolan says the recaptured pair are still in the hands of police pending their return to Kerobokan.
"We shall see if the police would hand them over to us immediately or the police would need more statements from them like how they escaped, who helped them," he told AAP.
It's believed the four squeezed through a narrow tunnel to make their escape.
Nainggolan said authorities are continuing to question prisoners inside the jail who they believe may have been involved in the escape.
"We're questioning several prisoners who are suspected (of being) involved in the escape of these four prisoners.
"We suspect them of making the tunnel. Who's the mastermind ... up to now, no one's confessed yet."
Davidson, who was sentenced for immigration offences last year after using another man's passport, had just two months and 15 days left to serve.
He was going to be deported to Australia where he is facing a number of drug charges in Perth.
