Caroline Kennedy re-lives her father's remarkable survival in the Pacific during WWII

Published
It is a story of incredible bravery and courage that helped launch the political career of US President John F Kennedy. Now his daughter, US Ambassador to Australia Caroline Kennedy, has travelled to Solomon Islands to mark the anniversary of the sinking of PT109 and to recognise the Coastwatcher and the Islander Scouts who saved his life. JFK was stranded in Solomon Islands' Western Province, swimming between Kennedy, Naru and Olasana Islands for almost a week before his crew was rescued.
