Hip-hop sensation The Kid Laroi has continued to take the rap world by storm, surpassing Kendrick Lamar's monthly listens on Spotify.

Laroi hit more than 25 million streamers, compared to Compton heavyweight, Lamar, who has almost 24.5 million.

The achievement follows on from his 2020 success when his debut mixtape ‘F*ck Love’ landed in the top 10 of the US billboard charts, coming through at number 8.

Last week his track 'Without You' hit No 7 on the UK singles chart.

Laroi, aka Charlton Howard, spent part of his childhood in South-Sydney’s Redfern/Waterloo area and even in Broken Hill in regional New South Wales. He moved to Los Angeles in 2018 to pursue his music career, getting his big break after being invited to tour and eventually collaborate with late American rapper Juice WRLD.

He derives his name from his people, the Kamilaroi.
