The Kid LAROI has spent the day in his old neighborhood of Waterloo where he made a significant donation to a local youth service.

LAROI, born Charlton Howard has donated $100,000 to the Fact Tree Youth Service and bought McDonald's for everyone present at the organisation's youth centre.

He received a warm welcome from fans and the local community who lined up to take photos and greet him.

The rapper, now based in Los Angeles, returned home for his Australian concert tour.

"The community couldn't be more proud of him," said one parent whose children attend the Fact Tree Youth Service.

"He didn't forget where he came from and his mum had every intention of bringing him back to visit.

"He's put Waterloo on the map."

A successful rapper, LAROI is the first-ever First Nations artist to have the No.1 Billboard spot for his collaboration with Justin Bieber called STAY.
