Stage 1 of the 2025 Dakar Rally was a tough way to start proceedings for the Australian teams. Through the dust and obstacles of the 413km round trip to and from Bisha, Daniel "Chucky" Sanders made it back to back stage wins and extended his outright lead on the bikes to two minutes. But it wasn't so easy for Toby Price, who encountered a multitude of electrical gremlins before it went to stealth mode at the stage finish and refused to restart. He managed to push it over the line to be 12th outright.
