Openly gay Olympic figure skater Adam Rippon has made his debut performance on the US version of Dancing With The Stars, performing the cha-cha to RuPaul's "Sissy That Walk".

Partnered with professional dancer Jenna Johnson, Rippon tied equal first for the night with 24 points out of 30, wowing the show's judges and earning praise on social media.
“You were born to do this show,” judge Carrie Ann Inaba told Rippon and Johnson.

She continued: “You guys are a match made in Heaven.”

It was a timely performance, following last week's Time 100 Gala in New York where Rippon met and bowed down to RuPaul in person.
Rippon recently made headlines for declining his official invitation to the White House, stating that he would "not stand" with those in Trump's administration.
