British Vogue has unveiled its December 2017 edition, featuring model Adwoa Aboah, with the hashtag #NewVogue.

The issue is the first under new editor Edward Enninful, who says he wants to create a more diverse magazine with an "open and friendly" feel to it.

"My Vogue is about being inclusive," Enninful, who styled the cover himself, told the BBC.

"It is about diversity - showing different women, different body shapes, different races, different classes [and] tackling gender."
Instead of cover lines about the must-have shoes of the season or make-up trends, there's a list of movers and shakers from the arts and politics, as well as the fashion world.

British Vogue has been criticised in the past for its lack of diversity.

In August model Naomi Campbell shone the spotlight on an all-white staff photo of the Vogue staff under Shulman, saying: "Looking forward to an inclusive and diverse staff now that Edward Enninful is editor."

Enninful has said he wants to create a magazine that is open and friendly, "like a shop you are not scared to walk into".

Along with different colours, shapes, ages, genders and religions, he has also said readers will see "less models that don't look so healthy".

The December issue features an interview with Enninful and Aboah, talking about the importance of diversity in fashion and how they define being black and British in 2017.

Since the cover image was released, the response on social media has been celebratory:
