Former RuPaul's Drag Race contestant Agnes Moore, who performs under her stage name Peppermint, is making a splash in the world of musical theatre, starring as one of the leads in Head Over Heels - a new Broadway-bound musical written around the music of the Go-Go’s.

The show was well-received when it debuted in San Francisco last week, and will hit New York City's Broadway in July.
In an early review, The San Francisco Examiner wrote: “What makes the show click is its outstanding cast and director Michael Mayer’s keen sense for just how far to milk a gag and when to pluck the heartstrings."

It continued: "It’s a seamless mix of low comedy, romance and transgressive messaging, bringing 'the other' from the periphery to centre stage empowerment.”
The show, which is being produced by Gwyneth Paltrow, is an adaptation of Sir Philip Sidney’s Elizabethan text The Countess of Pembroke's Arcadia and tells the story of a cursed royal family in Ancient Greece.
According to Logo, Peppermint's role in the show makes her "the first openly trans woman to originate a principal role on Broadway".

The show will make its Broadway debut on July 26 at the Hudson Theatre.
