Ellen DeGeneres has paid tribute to members of the LGBTIQ+ community with a touching tribute for the conclusion of Pride Month.

The daytime talk show host, comedian and activist shared the video compilation during her show on Thursday, revisiting memorable interviews with celebrities including Elton John, Ellen Page, Lady Gaga, Sam Smith, Laverne Cox and non-binary actor Asia Kate Dillon.
The video also revisited Ellen's iconic 1997 "Yep, I'm Gay!" cover of TIME magazine, as well as her 2008 wedding to Australian actress and entrepreneur Portia De Rossi.

"I cannot thank you enough for what you've done for the gay community," Ellen is shown saying to then-President Barrack Obama.
"It's one of the things I'm proudest of," he replied.

He continued: "[But] changing hearts and minds, I don't think anyone's been more influential than you on that."

Ellen faced intense media scrutiny when she came out as gay in 2007, which resulted in her popular television sitcom being cancelled.

She has since admitted that all the attention around her sexuality left her "mired in depression".

In 2016, Obama awarded Ellen the Presidential Medal of Freedom for her ongoing work in the LGBTIQ+ community.
