Actor Gabrielle Union is set to host an all-Black cast table reading of US sitcom Friends, with Altered Carbon director Salli Richardson-Whitfield directing the live online event.

Held via Zoom and raising awareness for organisation When We All Vote, the reading will star Sterling K. Brown, Ryan Michelle Bathe, Uzo Aduba, Aisha Hinds, Kendrick Sampson, and Jeremy Pope.

According to Variety, Bathe will play Rachel, Brown will play Ross, and Aduba, who took out an Emmy over the weekend for Mrs. America, will play fan-favourite Phoebe. Monica will be played by Hinds and Pope will star as Chandler.
The event follows the success of an all-Black cast reading of Golden Girls earlier this year, which starred Tracee Ellis Ross as Rose, Regina King as Dorothy, Alfre Woodard taking on Sophia and Sanaa Lathan as Blanche, with narration by Lena Waithe.
