The new star of CW series Batwoman, Javicia Leslie, has taken to social media to share a glimpse of her in-character look, hinting that there are further modifications to the iconic outfit to come.

“Look out, Gotham. I’m suited up and ready to go,” Leslie wrote on Instagram.

“But just wait until Ryan Wilder puts her own spin on the Batsuit.”

Described as likable, goofy and untamed, Leslie's Batwoman - Ryan Wilder - is reportedly quite different to her predecessor Kate Kane, played by Australian Ruby Rose in the show's first season.
“I am extremely proud to be the first Black actress to play the iconic role of Batwoman on television, and as a bisexual woman, I am honored to join this groundbreaking show which has been such a trailblazer for the LGBTQ+ community,” Leslie said previously of scoring the role.

Rose, whose departure from the show was considered a shock by fans, has been a vocal supporter of Leslie on social media.

"OMG!! This is amazing!! I am so glad Batwoman will be played by an amazing Black woman," she wrote when the casting was first announced.
