Kesha has released the video for her latest single, "Woman" and it features the pop star and her friends taking over a Delaware bar that regularly hosts drag nights.

Oddity Bar in Wilmington, Delaware was chosen as the shoot’s location by Kesha and her brother while she was on tour earlier this year.

“We found a bar appropriately named the Oddity Bar and called upon my Creepies to emerge from their lairs (and my touring crew from their hibernation chambers) and we pulled the shoot together last minute,” the star told Rolling Stone.

Andrea McCauley, one of the bar’s owners, told Pink News that the venue hosts “a drag show on the last Sunday of every month called Oddity’s Night of Divas”.

She added that their bartender -Ron Killen, aka Veronica Kitten - “organises and hosts the shows, and that’s her behind the bar in the video.”

The song, which features The Dap Kings horn section, is being hailed as a feminist anthem, with Kesha saying that on the day of writing it, she felt “like [she] had earned the right call [herself] a mother****ing woman".

“I have always been a feminist, but for much of my life I felt like a little girl trying to figure things out," she said. “In the past few years, I have felt like a woman more than ever. I just feel the strength and awesomeness and power of being female.”

Kesha has received thousands of comments from people who are loving the clip on Youtube.

“HER VOICE AND THIS VIDEO HAS CLEARED MY ACNE AND CURED MY DEPRESSION, KESHA IS HERE TO SAVE 2017,” wrote one person.

It even has the support of 'soccer mums', a particular subset of Lady Gaga fans who masquerade on social media as middle aged white women in order to get their favourite artists played on the radio more often. More on that, here.

“We played this song with my ladies in my apartment. We love you Kesha. Soccer moms are here for you talented lady <3,” wrote one fan.
