Actress Laverne Cox has revealed that she’s working on a new project with Beyoncé in an announcement on Twitter.

“Yes it's true. I am collaborating with @beyonce on a new project. #QueenBey herself. More details Sept. 6. #Beyonce #TransIsBeautiful,” the trans activist wrote.

The pair first met at the Grammy Awards in LA earlier this year where they professed their mutual admiration for one another.

“I was like, ‘I love you,’ and she’s like, ‘I know you do . . . I love you, too,’” Cox told People.

“And she’s like ‘Your Lip Sync Battle was amazing,’—she had seen I did Destiny’s Child.”

Cox hasn’t spilled any details about their upcoming project but did speak to Access Hollywood’s Kit Hoover about working with her idol.

“So, I have no idea, to be perfectly honest,” Cox replied when asked how the opportunity arose.

“I’m like, ‘Does she pick out, like, her biggest fans ever and let them work with her?”

She added that being in Beyonce’s presence is a transcendent experience saying, “I felt a sense of calm come over me.”
Cox’s fans have reacted excitedly to the news on Twitter:
Cox recently worked with the Human Rights Campaign on a video that illustrates the history of the transgender rights movement in the United States.
