To celebrate Buenos Aires Pride, Sprite has released a new commercial in Argentina that shoots straight to the heart - celebrating the sense of joy that comes with watching a loved one embrace their authentic self.
Set to the tune of 'You’ll Never Walk Alone' from the musical Carousel, the advertisement depicts different people helping their family members prepare for the Buenos Aires Pride parade; a grandmother helping her grandson get into drag; a mother helping her child bind their chest; a father watching on in pride as his son walks hand in hand with another boy.
The commercial has racked up over 3 million views on Twitter alone.
The beautiful commercial ends with the slogans, “Orgullo: Lo que sentís cuando alguien que querés elige ser feliz," and “No estás solx," which, according to Out magazine, translate to: “Pride: What you feel when someone you love chooses to be happy," and “You're not alone."
Beginning in 1992 with only 300 attendees, the 2019 Buenos Aires Pride event was held last weekend and saw over 300,000 people descend on the city's streets in an ocean of rainbow.
One member of the crowd was young drag queen Estanislao Fernàndez, the son of Argentina's new president-elect, Alberto Fernàndez.
