Model and body-positive activist Tess Holliday has opened up about her sexuality during an intimate interview for Nylon magazine's July issue.
Starring on the cover of the issue, Holliday reflected on an interaction in Mexico, when a waiter at her hotel's bar casually asked if she was "bi".
"I said, 'Thank you so much for asking. I’ve been thinking a lot about my relationship to my own queerness, and I think the word pansexual speaks to me more than bi does.'" Holliday told the magazine.
In an awkward/funny twist, it turned out the waiter had meant to say "buy" - as in, "are you buying" - instead of "bi".
Still, it was an opportunity for the model to voice some of the thoughts she'd been having.
"I feel like a lot of stuff in my life now makes sense," she explained.
"A lot of the things that I felt when I was younger make sense. A lot of the relationships that I had make sense," she added.
In a recent Instagram post for Pride Month, Holliday shared her feelings on queerness further.
"I’ve always been an ally for the LGBTIQ+ community & I find myself trying to navigate my own sexual identity," she shared with her 1.9 million followers.
"I’m still figuring out how I identify and that’s okay because everyone’s journey is different."
