If you've been musing on an idea for the SBS Emerging Writers' Competition - consider this your reminder to get writing.
Entries for the SBS Emerging Writers' Competition close on September 21 at 5pm AEST. (See here for full terms and conditions).
Writers are encouraged to pen a memoir piece written to the theme of 'Emergence'. The broad theme allows for a wide scope of stories from writers, whether it's a story of emerging fully into their true selves, or an event arising in the narrative of their life, or – anything that sparks the imagination. All entries must be non-fiction.
Or listen to The New Writer's Room podcast for interviews with both judges, advice from previous entrants, and for a live recording of our panel from Sydney Writers' Festival with previous winners.
Don't forget to visit sbs.com.au/writers to read previous winning entries and find out more information about the competition.
And good luck!
