In news that almost anyone could've seen coming, RuPaul is said to be eyeing the lucrative daytime TV market, shooting the pilot for his very own talk show.

According to Variety, the Emmy-winning creator of RuPaul's Drag Race is working on the ambitious venture with Telepicture, the production company behind Ellen Degeneres' award-winning talk show.
While some fans of the Drag Race franchise were quick to share their excitement on social media, others weren't so sure.

"Honestly, I'm not that impressed with the news of a RuPaul daytime talk show," one fan wrote on Twitter.
They continued: "Until he gets on the same page with respecting the trans community, and stops spouting shitty armchair therapist advice, he should stick to Drag Race."

In addition to the talk show, RuPaul is busy developing a comedy series for Netflix called “AJ and the Queen,” as well as a Hulu series based on his life, with J.J. Abrams attached as executive producer.

Australian Drag Race alumni Courtney Act last week announced that she had landed her own late night talk show in the UK.
