Tennis powerhouse Serena Williams has made her first step towards an unseeded French Open victory, beating Kristyna Pliskova in her first match at Roland-Garros.

It was her first grand slam match since returning to tennis after giving birth to her daughter Alexis in September, dedicating an Instagram post to new mothers following the win. Dressed in a athletic tennis black catsuit, arm cocked and ready to smash a ball over the net, she is the picture of power.
"Catsuit anyone? For all the moms out there who had a tough recovery from pregnancy—here you go. If I can do it, so can you. Love you all!!," she writes.
Williams has said the catsuit was a tribute to new mums. "All the moms out there that had a tough pregnancy and have to come back and try to be fierce, in a middle of everything. That's what this represents. You can't beat a cat suit, right?"
Fans and the tennis community have taken to Twitter to celebrate the victory. The official Twitter for Roland-Garros account claimed that Williams is "Back where she belongs...", while many couldn't help but notice Williams' super hero look.
Williams' husband, and arguably her number 1 fan, Alexis Ohanian also posted an Instagram tribute to his wife, with a special reference to Black Panther

"Supermama is back. Second time is even better. Is that Vibranium?" he wrote, referring to the fictional precious metal featured in the 2018 Marvel film.
Here's hoping for Serena Williams joining the Dora Milaje in a Black Panther sequel.
