When Heather Lundberg Green's son came out to her as transgender, it was cause for celebration.

Lundberg Green honoured her son's bravery by arranging a very cute photo shoot, introducing Adrian to the world just in time for his 20th birthday.

Sharing the photos on social media, the mother's post has been shared over 14,000 times in less than a week - a testament to the the pair's loving relationship.

“When your child comes out as trans, the best thing to do is create a photoshoot to celebrate the fact that he silently and bravely stepped out of the race that he never wanted to be in, found his own lane and proceeded to win,” she wrote on her Facebook page.

“HAPPY 20TH BIRTHDAY, Adrian!" She continued.

"You are without a doubt the most fascinating human I know and I will always be your biggest fan! I love you, I honour who you are and I respect your courage to be unapologetically you!! Let’s celebrate!!”

Mother of the year? We reckon she's at least in the running.
