Twitter is gaying out to Brie Larson's Captain Marvel

"In my lesbian expertise, I can say with 100% confidence that any problem in my life would be immediately resolved if Brie Larson were to hold my hand."

Earlier this week the first trailer dropped for Captain Marvel and, well, members of the LGBTIQ+ community were 100% here for it.

Starring Brie Larson, Captain Marvel is the first female superhero to receive her own movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Despite a small number of men suggesting the character should "smile more", the response to Oscar-winner Larson's first turn as a superhero has been overwhelmingly positive - and, er, quite gay.
The film also stars Jude Law, Lee Pace, and Samuel L. Jackson - but if the excitement of superhero fans on social media is any indication, Larson will be the one pulling crowds.

Disney will release Captain Marvel in early March 2019.
