Thinking of entering the SBS Emerging Writers' Competition? Consider this your cheat sheet.

The New Writer's Room is a podcast from SBS Voices that explores the art of memoir writing.

Each week, co-hosts Caitlin Chang and Candice Chung will speak to writers and authors all about storytelling, and hopefully inspire you to get writing.

Guests include 2021 competition judges Tara June Winch, winner of the Miles Franklin Literary Award for her novel The Yield, and writer and journalist Behrouz Boochani, author of No Friend But the Mountains, written while he was detained on Manus Island.

We'll also hear from author Jessie Tu, author of A Lonely Girl is a Dangerous Thing, last year's competition winner Alana Hicks and more on what gets the creative juices flowing, whether it be food, family, desire, culture or the minutiae of everyday life. They'll talk frankly about tips, tricks and how to deal with writer's block.
