Blessed be ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ – a fifth season is on the way

Ahead of the season 4 premiere of 'The Handmaid’s Tale' – delayed by the coronavirus pandemic, but coming to SBS on 29 April – it's been confirmed that a fifth season will be made.

The last we saw of rebel handmaid June (Elisabeth Moss) was in the cliffhanger ending of season 3, which you can still watch – all 13 episodes – at SBS On Demand.

Even as the cast announced season 5 in the US overnight (Australian time), news of what to expect in The Handmaid's Tale season 4 continued to be sparse.

Showrunner Bruce Miller has said: “Don’t try to guess what happens in season 4. That’s a fool’s errand."

What we do know is that most of the cast is returning in season 4, it will consist of 10 episodes, and there's a powerful trailer:
The video announcement of season 5 featured appearances from Elisabeth Moss, Madeline Brewer (Janine/Ofwarren), Max Minghella (Nick Blaine), Alexis Bledel (Emily/Ofglen), O-T Fagbenle (Luke Bankole), Yvonne Strahovski (Serena Joy), Samira Wiley (Moira Strand), Ann Dowd (Aunt Lydia),  Joseph Feinnes (Fred Waterford), Bradley Whitford (Joseph Lawrence) and more.
