Storm Boy

"Watching Storm Boy brings lots of emotion when I watch it, and I try and watch it a couple of times a year because it's such a powerful but peaceful movie. My favourite moment in Storm Boy is when David Gulpilil's character is revealed for the first time, he's coming through the tall grass. A beautiful human being, but he does it with such poise and elegance and for me it just represents First Nations people on country in such a beautiful pose."

In search of friendship, he encounters an Aboriginal loner and the two form a bond caring for orphaned pelicans.

The Point

"The Road to Referendum is an important show because this year is a very important year for the country. In making this program we have had some great interactions with community and one of the discoveries that I found was there are a diversity of views moving forward, but I think everyone realises that there needs to be significant structural reform and change in our country."

NITV’s flagship news and current affairs program The Point features cutting-edge analysis of the week in Indigenous Affairs and a unique perspective on the latest domestic and international news. This year join John Paul Janke and Whadjuk Noongar woman, Narelda Jacobs, for The Point: Referendum Road Trip, as they travel throughout Australia to share voices from communities, engaging in debate and providing insightful analysis, to help inform all Australians about the upcoming Voice Referendum. The Point: Referendum Road Trip will visit every Australian state and territory with special outdoor broadcasts, as well as live episodes from the studio on Cammeraygal Country in Sydney.

The Point airs on NITV Tuesday nights at 7:30PM with episodes available to stream at SBS On Demand after broadcast.
