The second semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest happened in the early hours this morning, in Kyiv, Ukraine.

The semi-final saw highlights such as a rap/yodelling fusion performance from Romania, the second Australian entrant - Denmark's contestant Anja Nissen - successfully making it into the final round, a pregnancy announcement AND a marriage proposal.

Macedonian contestant Jana Burceska had announced earlier in the evening that she was pregnant, so the crowd went wild when her partner got down on one knee and proposed to the singer, to which she excitedly said yes.

Burceska's now-fiance Aleksander popped the question on live television in front of millions of viewers, as she waited for the results of the semi-final to come through.
Unfortunately, the happy moment was followed by the news that Burceska would not be moving on to represent Macedonia in the Grand Final.

Regardless, people all around the world were elated to watch the couple's happy moment, and shared their thoughts on the public proposal on social media.
The Eurovision Song Contest will be broadcast over SBS’s Eurovision weekend - Friday 12 May, Saturday 13 May, and Grand Final Sunday 14 May at 7.30pm on SBS with LIVE early morning broadcasts begin Wednesday 10 May at 5am on SBS.
