Have you visited a pub in Australia? For many, a pub is not only a place to get a drink, but also a place to spend time with family and friends.

If you thought the main purpose of going to a pub in Australia was just for drinking alcohol, think again.

Research conducted by the Roy Morgan research company shows that the number of Australians who go to a bar for a meal is more than those who go to drink alcohol.

So, what do Aussies usually do in a pub? Is Aussie pub different than the one overseas?

In this episode of the Australia Explained podcast we will hear the experiences of some people who are familiar with Aussie pubs, also learn about the history of association with sports and the establishment of large clubs over time.

We talk to Taufik Tenggara, Sydneysider who runs a tour & transport business and is familiar with Aussie pubs, along with Angela Julianto, Australian living in Queensland who often visits pubs with her friends. How is Aussie pubs culture to them?
