New Zealand Police's latest recruitment drive showcases the country's diversity in a hilarious video they've called the "World’s Most Entertaining Police Recruitment Video".

The action-packed campaign, which runs for two-and-a-half minutes, is a comedic take on policing and is designed to boost law enforcement numbers and make New Zealand "the safest country in the world".

With an emphasis on empathy and community, the video also features the quirky Kiwi sense of humour in scenes including a solo dance at a pedestrian crossing, a cat wearing a police vest, and a cameo from the New Zealand Police Pipe Band.

Seventy staff members from a range of ethnic backgrounds take part in the video, including Samoan-born Black Ferns captain and policewoman Fiao'o Fa'amausili. Sergeant Sonny Iosefo, who made headlines in 2016 with his dance moves in the police running man challenge, also features.

"Police want to attract more women, Māori, Pacific Islanders, and people from all other ethnicities and backgrounds to better reflect the communities we serve," Commissioner of New Zealand Police Mike Bush said.

"We also need recruits who are happy to be based in the Auckland area. There's never been a better time in recent years to fulfil your dream of becoming a cop and serving your community."
The video, which was shared on the NZ Police Recruitment Facebook page on Sunday, is targeted at 18 to 24-year-olds and has already notched up more than 28,000 likes and shares, and over 6,000 comments.

It has been praised on social media for its sense of humour, inclusiveness, and fresh approach.
