Thousands of foreign students flocked to Sydney's Bondi Beach on Friday in an attempt to set a world record for the biggest ever English lesson.
About 3000 university and English language students headed to the world-famous beach for the class to help attract global attention to Australia as a top tertiary study destination.
The education industry is Australia's third largest export earner, with recent ABS figures showing it was worth $19.6 billion to the economy during 2015.
As of last October, there were 615,000 international student enrolments, a 9.7 per cent increase on the previous year.

The event is sponsored by the NSW Government and English Australia and will be attended by the Tourism and International Education Minister, Richard Colbeck.
Event organiser, Priscila Duarte, said Australia was barely on her radar when she was a student in Brazil trying to decide where to study.
She says most international students have their sights set on the United States, Britain and Canada as study destinations.
"We are really missing out when students are choosing other destinations," said Ms Duarte, who came to Australia 10 years ago and is now a citizen.
"I think we have a great product here."
