In more good news for queer representation in comics, founding X-Men member Iceman has shared his first gay kiss.

Iceman and Romeo - who belongs to a rival class of superhumans known as the Inhumans - go on a series of dates in the latest issue of All New X-Men, a title that was launched in 2012.
Bobby Drake was first revealed to be gay in 2015. The following year he hit up a gay bar with teammates Oya and Genesis, where he met his new crush Romeo.

The two visit a waterpark together in the latest issue, where they share a tender kiss, gloriously depicted on a full page of the comic.

Marvel fans have praised the latest issue with one Twitter user writing, “This splash page of Iceman's first kiss is stunning. My baby boy.”

Actor Shawn Ashmore—who plays Iceman in the X-Men films—has previously said he would be keen to play Bobby Drake as a gay character.

“The X-Men have always been about diversity, it’s the key message of the film. For the X-Men, what makes us different is what makes us great, so if Iceman or Bobby came out in a film I think it would stay very much on point and on message about what the films are about."
