Netflix has shared a sneak peak of Ellen DeGeneres' upcoming comedy special, the talk show host's first stand-up show in 15 years.

The special, titled Relatable, was filmed during the limited run of her show 'An Evening With Ellen DeGeneres' which toured in August of this year.
As seen in the trailer, DeGeneres speaks about coming out of the closet in 1997 and the resulting fallout, which included the cancellation of her sitcom.

“I lost my sitcom when I came out and it took three years for me to get back on television,” she says.

“There was this one station manager that said: ‘No-one’s gonna watch a lesbian during the day.’

“I said: ‘Well they weren’t watching me at night. What time of the day is good for a lesbian?'”

The full comedy special is expected to be released on December 18th.
